Albert Lück Stiftung Lighthouse Project
We recently won the Albert Lück Stiftung lighthouse project on Extended Reality for Inspection, Assembly & Operation for Net-Zero Carbon Infrastructure, organised by the department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG).
Large-scale Virtualization and Modeling Lab
We were thrilled to announce the successful integration of the Large-scale Virtualization and Modeling Lab (LVML) into Design++. On October 3, 2023, this milestone marked a collaborative achievement between the Departments of Architecture (D-ARCH) and Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG). The event celebrated LVML's rich history and set the stage for future academic exploration and interdisciplinary cooperation. Exciting times ahead!
Virtual design for real-world buildings
The article originates from the ETHZ Foundation and is part of their recent spotlight featuring Design++ and the Executive Director, Dr. Danielle Griego. At the Center for Augmented Computational Design in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (Design++), ETH is pioneering innovative approaches within the construction industry. Dr. Danielle Griego provides further insights into this initiative. We are delighted to share this feature and spotlight on our research center!
We are thrilled to announce a new Design++ Postdoctoral Fellowship program!
This 100% two-year fellowship program is designed to support talented researchers in developing innovative solutions and technologies for the AEC industry. The program aims to bridge the implementation gap for promising technologies that promote resource efficiency, circularity, and reduced carbon emissions.
We are thrilled to announce a new Design++ Postdoctoral Fellowship program!
Open Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Architecture, Engineering and Construction - 100%, 2 years.
New Professor for Computational Design
At its meeting of 8 and 9 March 2023 and upon application of Joël Mesot, President of ETH Zurich, the ETH Board appointed Bernd Bickel as Professor of Computational Design at D-ARCH and D-BAUG and granted Stephan Pfister the title professor.
Welcome Prof. Dr. Bernd Bickel!
Professor Bernd Bickel, currently Professor and Vice President for Technology Transfer at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, and Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google in Zurich, as Full Professor of Computational Design in the Department of Architecture and equally affiliated with the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG). The appointment of Bernd Bickel is embedded within Design++, we are looking forward!
