Inspiring the Next Generation on National Future Day

On 14th November, we welcomed 22 bright and curious young minds to the Institute of Technology in Architecture, ETH Zurich, to celebrate National Future Day.

This annual initiative invites children aged 10-12 to explore career possibilities and engage with cutting-edge technology, sparking creativity and curiosity about the future. In collaboration with NCCR Digital Fabrication and Design++, we organized a hands-on program filled with exciting activities:

  • Robot Painting: Under the guidance of the MAS ETH DFAB team, participants turned their creative visions into reality with collaborative robots.
  • Robotic Fabrication Lab (RFL): The children were fascinated as large-scale robots demonstrated their precision and versatility in tasks like brick stacking.
  • AI Dream Home Design: The young innovators used artificial intelligence to bring their dream homes to life, merging creativity and technology.
  • Cantilever Challenge: A fun and engaging activity hosted by the Block Research Group that tested teamwork and problem-solving skills in building structures.

The energy and imagination of these future innovators were inspiring. Whether watching robots at work or designing their dream homes, the participants were fully immersed in the possibilities of technology and creativity.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this day a success, including MAS ETH DFAB, Block Research Group, and our passionate team members. National Future Day reminds us of the importance of nurturing young minds and providing opportunities to explore the potential of innovation. We’re proud to have contributed to this meaningful initiative, which will inspire the next generation of architects, engineers, and creators.
