Dr. Danielle Griego

Executive Director of Design++

Since June 2020, Danielle Griego is the Executive Director of Design++, at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. The interdisciplinary center promotes collaborations in research and teaching across the ETH domains and currently includes over 20 professors and 6 departments. Design++ also actively encourages knowledge exchange with industry to strengthen the value for practice.

Danielle Griego completed her doctorate at ETH Zurich in April 2020 in the chairs of Information Architecture and Architecture and Building Systems. Danielle also holds a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering and M.Sc. Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her field of expertise is in building integrated solar photovoltaics and building energy efficiency with a focus on participant driven approaches (via mobile apps) to facilitate behavior change for intelligent energy utilization. Before moving to Switzerland, Danielle initiated and led a flagship program called EcoCampus at the Energy Research Institute at NTU in Singapore, which implemented applied research projects with industry to achieve energy, water and waste reduction targets on the university campus.
