Unity App for Soundscape Design and Evaluation
Dr. Ulrike Wissen Hayek | D-BAUG
Using the Unity game engine, a VR application will be developed that will enable students to acquire skills in the integration of sound into the design and evaluation of landscapes. With the interactive app, theoretical principles of acoustic landscape aspects are taught, and it allows students to experience and consciously design sounds in a landscape context to enhance landscape quality.
Immersives Studio
Prof. Fabio Gramazio | D-ARCH
Introducing advanced XR visualisation techniques as standard tools in teaching architectural design. In the "Immersive Studio", we evaluate the developed technical solutions and workflows by observation and student feedback. This effort is inscribed in the larger D-ARCH strategy to equip future architects with the computational competencies needed to master the challenges to come.
Student-centred Immersive Learning of Design and Dimensioning in Structural Concrete using Augmented Reality Environments
Prof. Dr. Walter Kaufmann | D-BAUG
This project develops 10 bilingual interactive Augmented Reality (AR) apps to foster curiosity as well as analytical/spatial thinking and abstraction skills of today’s (digital native) students for challenging course content in “Structural Concrete I/II” lectures through immersive visual links between abstract theory and real-life examples.
Immersive Data Visualisation and Interaction for Teaching Scientific Machine Learning
Dr. Michael Kraus | D-BAUG
This project develops interactive data and information visualisation tools using Extended Reality to foster curiosity as well as analytical thinking and abstraction skills of today’s (digital natives) students for challenging course content in Scientific Machine Learning lectures in Architecture and Civil Engineering.
